Hungry Families Are At Risk. Help Us Defend SNAP!
Bread for the World is a Christian advocacy organization committed to ending hunger in the U.S. and around the world. Led by Rev. Eugene Cho, our mission brings together people across the political spectrum to urge elected officials to advance policies that reduce hunger and poverty — especially for the most vulnerable among us.
Right now, programs that help hungry families are under threat.
In a recent vote, the House of Representatives passed a budget bill that would cut over $290 billion from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) — the largest reduction in the program’s history. This could directly impact the 42 million people who rely on SNAP to feed themselves and their families.
SNAP is one of our most effective tools to fight hunger. It helps families stay afloat, improves health outcomes, and strengthens local economies. Every $1 in SNAP benefits generates up to $1.50 in economic activity — and every meal it provides is a lifeline.
This is not just a policy issue. It’s a moral one.
Bread for the World is meeting with lawmakers and pushing back against these harmful proposals — but we can’t do it alone. Your gift today fuels our advocacy on behalf of hungry children, families, and seniors across the country.
